About Our School
High Point Elementary school is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) World School. As an IB PYP World School, we are dedicated to cultivating compassionate, knowledgeable, and inquiring learners who will be ready to navigate their future as world citizens! The aim of all IB Programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.
Our Riverwood cluster schools are the first complete IB feeder pattern in Fulton County Schools.
School History
High Point Elementary was built in 1963. It was originally built for Grades 1 through 7 with less than 400 students. At that time, High Point had no Kindergarten or PreK classes. There was no air conditioning at High Point until the 1970's! In the past 60 years, there have been quite a few changes.
High Point has had two major additions since it was built. The Kindergarten wing was added in 1987. The Fourth and Fifth grade wing was added in 2007. We now have a student population of approximately 700 students in Grades PreK through 5.
